Cornwall Armed Forces Day
Date: 30th to 30th Jun 2018
Cornwall Armed Forces Day, a Cornish celebration to show appreciation of the work of the Armed Forces, will take place at Flambards Theme Park, Helston on Saturday 30th June 2018 which will be a great fun day out for all of the family. The event will be opened at 10:00 by the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Colonel E T Bolitho OBE who will inspect a Guard of Honour provided by the Cornwall Cadet Force.
It is being held as part of Armed Forces Day, the annual national campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for the men and women of the Armed Forces past and present, including currently serving troops, Service families, Reservists, Veterans and Cadets.
Similar events will take place across the UK, enabling people to come out and show their support, and giving a much-valued morale boost for Armed Forces personnel and their families.
A number of military charities will be present at Cornwall Armed Forces Day as well as military vehicles, reenactors, Royal Marines, Army Reserves, motorbikes, Culdrose Military Wives Choir and many, many other attractions. There is no fee to attend Cornwall Armed Forces Day which is held in the car-park at Flambards. Standard admission prices still apply to anyone visiting Flambard’s attractions as they will be open to the public as usual.
Mike Waters, event organiser, said: “I am delighted that Flambards have allowed us to hold Cornwall Armed Forces Day on their premises, we have had a lot of support from local organisations and I am sure it is going to be a great day.”
The UK Armed Forces defend the country and its interests. Every day of the year they are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism.
