Flambards is recruiting!
Published: 18th February 2017Flambards has announced a major recruitment drive in the run up to the start of the 2017 season.
Flambards, which fully re-opens to visitors on April 1st, is midway through its winter programme of development and re-investment.
As part of this investment the park is looking to recruit around 80 new members of staff for roles ranging from customer service hosts to catering assistants and ride operators.
One of the more unusual vacancies is for a new recruit to take on the role of their famous costume character - Ferdi the Fox.
Flambards legendary furry friend has become something of a celebrity after starring in thousands of selfies, Instagram pics and Facebook posts over the years.
“Ferdi plays a vital role at Flambards and it’s crucial we get the right person for the job,” said Flambards’ Richard Smith.
“Ferdi’s main tasks include featuring in selfies, meeting and greeting younger visitors and generally overseeing the enjoyment of all our guests to Flambards, however it’s a demanding job and we need someone pretty special who’s willing to take on the challenge,” he added.
The park is hosting a recruitment day on Wednesday, March 1st between 10am and 2pm, in conjunction with Helston Job Centre.
“As well as Ferdi, we are also looking for a great team who need to be well presented, confident in dealing with the public and happy to work in an outside environment,” said Richard.
“It is vitally important for us to get people who understand the importance of quality customer service, we want everyone that comes to Flambards to have the best day of the week - from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.”
The work will be subject to the park opening and will be up to five days a week in school holidays and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday during the rest of the season. Work is expected to commence mid-March for staff training and end on or around October 28th.
- The Job Fair will take place at Flambards on Wednesday, March 1st between 10am and 2pm. Application forms can be collected by e-mail by applying to [email protected] or at a local job centre. Application forms can also be completed on the day.
